Writer-to-Writer is a Creative Writing Fellow initiative/resource aimed to provide peer-to-peer support for single, longer-form creative writing projects. As creative writers, and trained Barnard Writing Fellows, we can act as attentive (and consistent!) readers of your work as you embark on any part of the writing process. Students can meet with a fellow weekly or biweekly to receive consistent feedback and support on their projects. Fill out the form here.

These drop-in hours are tailored to students and creative writing students seeking support on writing samples for class, graduate programs, or department applications. Flexible and open, drop-in hours allows students to meet one-on-one with a Creative Writing Fellow to receive specific feedback and attentive support on any of their writing.

In Class
We work with professors to design in-class workshops tailored for your class that engage students with a variety of writing prompts, revision tools, drafting ideas, and more.
Out of Class
The Creative Writing Fellows offer two out of class workshops every semester geared towards generating or revising writing. These workshops are designed to be dynamic and engaging, and for anyone interested in creative writing.
-
Creative Writing Fellows can meet with creative writing students to discuss all stages of their writing process for assignments in your class— brainstorming, revising, editing, receiving feedback, and more. Recognizing the unique needs of creative writers, our Fellows support students in not only developing their creative work, but also nurturing their creative process. Rather than working with writers on a single draft, we hope to act as readers for writers between drafts, and across drafts.

Tell that pesky voice in your head that’s stopping you from writing to get out of the way! Using The Artist’s Way (by Julia Cameron) for structure and inspiration, this workshop will give writers relief through offering different daily writing affirmations to turn to when the inner critic gets loud. Once we identify that voice, we can change it, nudging our thinking towards a kinder, more empathetic, creative place.
